  1. i have way too many scraps so i cut all offcuts into 10" squares, then any not big enough go to 5" squares then 2.5" squares. the only exception is after the 10" squares if i can make 2.5" strips..

anything smaller than 2.5" i send to my local primary school for collages and whatever they do with them

  151. Scraps are all chucked in a plastic tub, I have big plans for colour coordinated storage when we move house after Christmas. So far I don't have a go-to use for them so far, but I'm thinking of making a string quilt at some stage.

  152. So far my favorite project has been the scrappy stash QAL. You make log cabin blocks using one color per block. I loved the quilt I made with it.

  153. Scrunchies, bags, and napkins. That's what scraps end up being. As for storing, uhm, I keep fabric in storage boxes and pile them on the stair landing, covered with the Mother-in-law's picnic table cloth.

  155. I sort my scraps by colour in some drawers in my room. I've been giving a lot away to new quilters, so my scrap stash is fairly diminished, but I've been using them lately making Elizabeth Hartman's cat face quilt, so it's been fun to filter through the bits and pieces to find colours to match the solids I'm using.

  156. My scraps tend to go into scrappy quilts or into tote bags. I'm afraid that I don't have a good way to store them, though. They seem to be spread all over my sewing room :(

  158. I use scraps when I make small quilts and zipper pouches, I store my scraps, sorted by color, in white wire IKEA wastebaskets lined up on top of the shelves holding my fabric stash and quilting books. Pretty and easily accessible.

  167. I'd love to know that too. Before I left every weird angle on my fabric, now I decided I needed a system. After reading of people making neat cushions with scrap-filling, I have 2 paper bags. One for useable pieces or prints I can still fussy cut and the other bag contains less useable pieces. I do have the feeling I need to upgrade my bags soon though... D:

Scraps I use for baby toys, accents on kid clothes... Wel, anything as long as I remember to look through the scrap-bag...
